About us

Inclusive from Day One!

In the 1990s, Anabs Soccer Club was founded in the National Capital Region by Eritrean-Canadian sports enthusiasts. Created to unite the Eritrean diaspora in Canada, Anabs served as a communal hub, encouraging members from diverse linguistic, religious, and ethnic backgrounds to connect through sports and cultural activities. The club aimed to alleviate the isolation often experienced by newcomers, fostering a sense of belonging and community solidarity.

Anabs not only promoted physical well-being but also supported the mental and emotional integration of Eritrean immigrants into Canadian society. Its role as a vibrant community center was solidified in 2022 when it was officially registered as a non-profit organization in Ontario, enabling it to expand its outreach and impact within the community.
