Anabs Eritrean Sports Club was founded in the 1990s by a group of Eritrean-Canadian sports enthusiasts in the National Capital Region, who saw the need to create a platform for community engagement, cultural celebration, and physical activity. Recognizing the unique challenges faced by the Eritrean diaspora, especially newcomers, the founders aimed to foster a sense of belonging and support through sports.
